John Fiola
John Fiola comes from the consumer world of wines where his introduction to wines started by volunteering to get the wines for Christmas dinner one year. He met a fabulous retailer who got him hooked on wines.
He was trained as a chemist and began his professional career working in environmental testing labs. He now works full time within the pharmaceutical industry.
After taking numerous consumer level wine courses, he was introduced to the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) certification program and has been pursuing trade-level certification courses since. He holds the prestigious WSET Diploma certification (with Merit) and is a Certified WSET Educator. John also holds the Certified Wine Educator (CWE) and French Wine Scholar certifications.
John has been teaching consumer level introductory wine courses at the Boston Center for Adult Education since 2006 and is a Wine Ambassador for City Wine Tours. He thoroughly enjoys the education aspect of wine while expanding his knowledge of all things grape.
