Archer began her appreciation for wine during an undergraduate semester in Grenada, Spain. After Graduation she took an international marketing position with a diagnostics from in Maine and continued her journey or wine appreciation while on business pursuits that brought her to many countries around the globe where she made every effort to enjoy a variety of fine local wine and food

In 2007 Erica decided to take a vacation on the West Coast and enjoy two weeks of courses in wine at the Culinary Institute of America’s Greystone Campus in Saint Helena, California. She continued to use her corporate vacation time to continue her studies at the CIA and the Court of Master Sommeliers and the London-based Wine, Spirits, and Education Trust and joined the Boston Sommelier Society to hone her tasting skills. In 2010, she was awarded the Wine Spirit and Education Trust Level Three Advanced Certification in Wines and Spirits (with merit), became a Sommelier in the American Court of Master Sommeliers, and received her Certified Wine Professional award from the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, California and began her wine education business based in Maine.

Erica is the principal of Wine Wise, a wine education and events service located in Maine. She is skilled at creating truly creative and memorable wine education experiences on land and at sea.
